Mass for Artists

About the Event

The inaugural event. In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, Erin K. McAtee accepted a request from Fr. Malachy Napier, CFR to uplift artists through a special Mass and sharing of art. Together with fellow artists Claire Kretzschmar and Fr. Orlando Rodriguez, Sch. P., they organized a Mass, social, art gallery exhibition, and brief set of live performances to encourage artists at a time when arts institutions were largely shut down. The art gallery featured a collection of works by New York City Catholic artists, and the live performances included live music, dance, and poetry shared in the urban courtyard of Annunciation Church in West Harlem.
