We’re excited to present De•compositions, a new group exhibition featuring drawings and works on paper, on view now at St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich Village.
GALLERY VIEWING HOURS: Sat. 3/22, 2-4pm & Fri. 4/4, 12:45-7pm
Co-curator Lucy Rahner considers the ashes on our heads today: “The Lenten season starts with an ashen sign of mortality on the forehead, like the smudge of charcoal an artist finds on his face after a long day in the studio. It seems no coincidence that graphite and charcoal—perhaps the most fundamental media of mark-making—are made of carbon, the very element to which our bodies return...”
The gallery is open from March 7th - April 9th at McGuire Hall under St. Joseph’s Church.
